The Tamil Nadu Bishops’ Council (TNBC) is a regional Episcopal Body that enables the Latin and Oriental Catholic Bishops of the Tamil Nadu region to share the ideas and information, deliberate on the Church’s broad concerns and take care of the pastoral needs of the faithful. It has 18 Latin dioceses and 4 Oriental dioceses. All together there are 21 bishops active (17 Latin bishops and 4 Oriental bishops) and 8 retired bishop members. The Conference aims at assisting the bishops in all the spheres especially for pastoral need and for proclamation.
